Welcome June! - Monika Hibbs
June is here! May ended in rare form. And today as news shows pictures of looted buildings, grafitti and heavy heavy hearts filled with heartache, my Verse of the day popped on my phone. Almost in perfect harmony, knowing that I needed the heavenly reminder : Colossians 4: 2: Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving. A.M.E.N. This blog is not a heavy blog but a thankful journal and I will leave the societal issues & tensions away from it ... that post may come... but not today. We do have a curfew..which is our normal life anyways with Lulu 😆

June is here and that mean Lulu turns 1 in t minus 3 days and Big H turns 15 in 22 days & school ends! This year was so incredible. But more about her on her Birthday blog post and more about big H's year on his blog post 😍

Thankful this week that the kiddos wall art came! It said it could take up to 6 weeks and it took the whole time. I was so excited to finally get these gorgeous name plaques!
 Highly recommend Trendy Timber! Her attention to detail is everything. I chose the Jacobean stain with cream paint for both first and middle. I love the choice, although it did seem boring at the time, I feel like it will go with any room, at any stage of life! Harrison even wants one now! Lulu has one too of course, with only "Honolulu Piper" on it, because girl there is no way I am paying for all 4 of her names on that board when it's PER LETTER  and it would be pretty miraculous if all 4 names even FIT! {more on her little nook space later }

Thankful for spa day at my mother in laws! Her love and attention of our girls is so precious. Her life literally goes on hold whenever we or our kids are around. She is non stop available and yes maybe as a grandma you just do that kinda thing? But I am trying to lean in to her ways and learn to stop drop and just PLAY some days!

Thankful for snuggle sessions. All of our babies were way too on the move for any kinda lovin' longer than a smooch. But when Lulu wakes up she is a snuggle bug and I love it love it love it.

Thankful for midweek zoom calls with our church & a reason to break free from the yoga pants!
Thankful for big bro twinning with lil sis. They resemble each other so much it's crazy! Both super easy going as babies! Love that Harrison is so sweet to her!
Thankful for Hannah trying to share some love for an insta family we follow. The Stock family         ( total strangers to us) lost their 3 year old daughter to a rare form of cancer. If I read things right on the momma's post it was within 6 weeks of diagnosis?! Literally could not even begin to fathom. At. all. To continue the support we added some art for the #starsforstevie. If you want to read more on insta follow Littlemissmomma. Pray for the family and the 2 brothers that lost an adorable precious sister.
Thankful for heatwave days, we somehow really love the heat and yes the dry heat is a way different heat than the humidity of Hawaii or Florida, but it does knock you over none the less! Friday did reach 111! We had to take a break from school and calls and work and head to the lake. Our kids are not lake kids, there are rocks, there are weird smells, there is moss and murky water, BUT it was water and it was refreshing. And they enjoyed it for a few minutes. Maybe next time we will be more like the lake die hards we saw with tents and floats and chairs and coolers. Sigh, that just sounds exhausting!

Thankful for our table and safe space to share Happy / Crappy moments from our day together. That light tho!
Thankful for a sweet insta pal that helped keep me accountable for an early am workout! I am really good at not turning my alarm on- on work days, Lulu is up around 6, and the sun starts shining in our room then and I wake up. But Saturday- I needed some solo time before any kids woke up and I knew I just had to finally set my alarm and tell my friend about it to keep me from hitting snooze!
It worked! Weird brain of mine! And I got it done! 5 mile run/jog/walk/hike/pant! That sunrise tho! And the crowds of hikers and walkers was so inspiring!

Matt took off on a bike trek solo too once I got home. Vit D and some solo time does the soul so much good! Refreshment at just the perfect time!

Thankful for our little buddy that reminds us to appreciate everything as we walk and talk...today on our walk he saw a dead bird being eaten by ants. He thought it was an Ant Thanksgiving. Sounds good to me!

Thankful for slime! And for a great cleaner upper of said slime and all things needed to mix it! Watching her mix and smoosh and design and take pictures and videos and just BE... is beautiful.

Thankful for early to bed Saturday, despite some groans, and early to rise Sunday to all be on our 8am church call. This was rare and it got documented. And I mighta bribed them with sprinkled cinnamon rolls
(and no- sprinkles do not add any taste to those rolls but they looked FUN! and brightened up the morning!)
Thankful for simple joys. Straws and milk. No further words.

Thankful for using online time to have the good news preached and the ease of logging in from home! Pray for these meetings and for the guys leading them!
Thankful for local church pals that share in big ways! Look at this produce!

She was literally in her element, yes it was still in 100s, but she picked and carried those tangerines and peaches!

Yesterday I triple dog dared you to do something nice out of your ...
