Hudson Frederick is f.i.v.e

He woke up today, looked at his legs, and declared that he was bigger. so it's true. He grew overnight & is now 5!

I love his heart and his undeniably Hill personality. He is all in, or all out, no gray area ever.
He is all boy, and will take anyone out if they mess with him, although he is the first to cover his eyes if scared and has a jelly heart. He watches other's faces and knows when they are disappointed, frustrated, excited and happy.
His latest is to ask what words mean. "Mom what does five mean?"... every new experience gets met with his inquisitive mind. He has embraced the open sunday school style at our church, and sits front row and listens to the short sermon usually with great interest. As we watched him Sunday, we knew those wheels were turning & the car ride home was all about the "men that took the beard off of Jesus and why did Jesus not scream and why did Jesus bleed". We pray that God will save him.

I love seeing how he interacts out here. He has grown SO much in school & speech.
 I adore every craft that he brings home & totally am guilty of babying the baby, i.e the Easter Bunny pic from this week's post!

He loves grazing & some faves are: chips and salsa, chocolate fiber one bars, cheese sticks and squeezeable applesauce , all things dairy, bananas & anything inside a Dunkin bag.
It was suggested that he engages with food in a fun & playful manner even if not eating, so he enjoys that, somedays...... other days it just grosses him ( and us ) totally out.

He loves drinking with a straw, but learned how to drink unaided in school. It might have been extra sad to bid farewell to those Thomas sippy cups months ago... sigh....
He is a fast fast runner, a strong kicker and a very good tackle man. Football and soccer seem like they are in his future.
He is a fish, and just passed the resort swim test. His wide toothy grin as soon as he dives in, and swallows a gallon of water, melts us every time.
He is a great snuggler, and wants to make sure he is not missing out on any fun, especially at bedtime.
He loves to check in on us, asking often " you ok?" & we love his concern, compassion & heart for others, especially his momma and momma jr ( aka hannah).

We are THRILLED to have some fam here to celebrate with us! We are THRILLED to have the joy to celebrate this adorable, never looking at the camera, goofy, caring & big love bug.

Happiest 5th Nerfday Hudbud!! We can't wait to partay with you tonight!!

{and I know the sibs are excited that they won't have to share ipads anymore.... sigh.... yay for a great group gift!!}

❤ Thankful for family time. We are all enjoying sharing our aloha vibes with Mom & Ray.

❤ Thankful for chillax time. We entered Spring Break almost ready to just flop. And although I had to work 3 days of the actual break, we are thankful, oh so thankful, that we celebrate a new to us holiday today, Prince Kuhio day & Friday is a holiday too. So although our break was short, and our resort check in happened Friday, we get a short work week, all while resort living! We have kept our break simple, but fun and of course full of tasty treats.

Documenting Harrison's 1st pedi.

 Target for the win. Keeping every food separate. And cute while at it.

                                                             Teddy's Bigger Burgers

My new fave color combo shaved ice, Seriously the PRETTIEST. Grape, Vanilla & Coconut Cream.

 That one day you cave. And when the littlest guy wants to sit by the Easter Bunny, you shake your head, pay the 25 bucks & let a 1st Easter Bunny Pic.... in all Hebert history..... happen.

 Shaka! We are loving resort life!
 Yes it might have rained for 2 days straight but no that did not keep them out of the pool.
 Obsessed with these angelic faces at rest.

 Not a bad morning view.

 Smore night

❤ Thankful for heaven hugs coming in the form of visitors at our church! A new to us family from west richmond, canada, with 3 kiddos & and old friends from Sarnia.

❤ Thankful for the three day training during break. It was on Design Thinking- and it really challenged my mindset. Some days I think I have a growth mindset, and try to teach that way. This training was so awesome and mind stretching. It was just a small group of us that met to work on this & it was so beneficial on so many levels. I took three personality tests, and found out that I am an "ambivert", the perfect balance of intro/extrovert &  am blue-green on the color test... to a T... so totally me.

❤ thankful for  Target fulfilling my new obsession with pool floats! And how is Target's shipping time beating Amazon's?! of course we needed a matching pizza float to go w/ the suits!

❤ thankful for the believer's love of Hudson & for the fun fellowship lunch party we had.

spring break has begun. the lord knows exactly when we need to refresh. this week had us extra weary.
{from tooth pulled, to harrisons broken toe, to hudson & hannah sick, to my strep, it was just that kinda hard week when friday was NOT getting here fast enough even with fun Pi Day on 3/14 and Leprechaun Fun on 3/16.}

one . more. sleep! and then my mom and ray come! to say that we are excited is an understatement. it seems like forever since December & we are excited to show them our life out here! the kids have many ideas of what to do with them, what places to eat at, and how to play, not sure their hawaii vacay will be very restful, but it will be lots of fun in the sun!

thankful that i got sick this weekend, hoping that means we will have a peaceful and healthy rest of break, since now everyone has been sick... and our sickness ratio has been like 200% out here... never ever have been so sick as moving to this island? Odd and ironic we all feel, but truth! {I often wonder if the germs just know not to mess with you during work time? and are secretly waiting until a sunny perfect weekend to attack? either way, I got strep, and I also got antibiotics the same day, so I am now able to eat and swallow again.}

thankful that matt is on the same break sched as me, and since we moved harrison back to our home school, he is too!

thankful for discovering the hidden qualities of people in our church gathering, everyone has gifts and everyone should use those god given gifts to the best of their ability. the ladies here at our small gathering are amazing. from being extra generous, extra sweet and very hospitable, to encouraging and caring for our family in very much needed ways. the love that the whole clan has for our kids is beautiful. it has really opened our eyes to how we should treat other people's kiddos.

it continually blows our minds. Matt, like many of my readers know, works for Auntie, an older widow in our assembly who owns a sushi spot at the mall. auntie is extra generous, always giving matt money for our kids to buy something with, or extra food that she buys for us and she always stuffs us when we visit her sushi spot. She even has cheese sticks in that fridge, because that's all hudson ever asks for. Friday night, Matt went to Costco for her drink run. There was no parking by her store entrance, so he lugged the stuff a long ways and auntie was so concerned that he was too hot and sweaty. She made him sit down, in their  itty bitty kitchen area, and she sat down, and rubbed his feet and added salt and rubbed some more. Seriously brings tears to my eyes. 1- the kindness in her heart- Matt is an employee after all, and he should be doing the heavy muscle work for this sweet dainty lady as a courtesy even if not employed, but her servant heart to try to make him feel good and cared for, is beyond words. I hope this ignites a spark in all of us, to treat others TRULY how we want to be treated. Be doers... not just talkers...

thankful for the world's best class, and for their amazing support system at home that helped create successful, adorable and glittery leprechaun traps!
