HBD Harrison Allen! *15*

6.22.2005 was a special day, as young newbie parents, we checked in to Arrowhead hospital. I had on my fave DePaul sweatshirt a few things in my hot pink Kate Spade diaper bag and just like that... hours later on 6.23.2005... I was a MOM! Eeek!! All the squeals of excitement.
At 22, it seemed like a dream! Easy, healthy pregnancy. Easy, painfree delivery ( epidural, as early as possible was amazing)
And this angel of a baby was just perfect. Beautiful blonde hair, healthy in every way, fragile and oh so full of life.
Let the adventures begin, little Harrison Allen!

And now, in what seems like a big blink, we are looking at a handsome full of life teen!

( And lets note the size of the cake. I am so bad with math. Sigh. Looked huge online. Of course panic happened at pickup, just hours before his friends were driving by!  The cake was by Baskin and it was perfect and delish. The backups were ice cream cupcakes from Cold Stone. Our new go to! )
And his hard workmanship is on point. Selling old farm tires as Cross fit tires.

We had a shopping date and I asked him his faves.

Fave Color : Sunset colors, especially orange
Fave Dream Car: Lambo
Fave Food: Sushi and Steak
Fave Hobby: Bike riding
Fave Sport: Basketball and Football
Fave thing to shop for : Sneakers
Fave Christian song: Together by King & Country

Here's to an incredible year 15, buddy! Fasten your seatbelts! It will be that kinda year!

6.22.20

Happy Monday!
Happy official kick off to summer! Our last staff meeting today and it felt oh so good to archive my Class Dojo materials! See you next Fall ya'll!

Thankful this week for our scorpion hunt fun!
And for Lulu listening with some interest to Hudson's Lego stories
For restaurants being open! And yummy new to us breakfast places!

For window shopping fun & pictures on our dream toys

For family game night Dutch Blitz is always a good time!
For kind neighors who share their pool!
For our End of Year celebration on Zoom.

For Lifetime's pool being open!

for trips with Lulu to Costco and random selfies with a new sun hat

Thankful for oldies but goodies! This picture was shared by my aunt. My granny is holding her on her lap, then in the middle is my mom and then far left is my other aunt. Beautiful.
Thankful for Hannah still lovin' her slime experiments. This was her rainbow slime experiment, she wondered if the colors would mix overnight. The perfect tie dye slime!

Thankful for this chill chica. Post Dunkin munchkin picture :)
Thankful for bed head and big sis sharing that big long john! Not shown is the adorable video of Lulu grabbing the whole thing from Hannah, when she was offered just a nibble.
Thankful for finally committing to 1- visiting an ortho and 2- for Big H and I to be braces twinsies! Note to all the teens reading ( if any! ha!) always wear a retainer post braces. My years in braces are like non existent and I am starting back at square one, at 37. Nice. But hey maybe once the mask mandate wears off my braces will be off! The seller for this ortho was the pink EVERYTHING and the Harvard grad ortho that took such sick care of us!
Thankful for neighbor pups! This was Harrison's 1st dog sitting job, and he nailed it. The joy he had when she paid him $25, was literally ADORABLE! Get it son, get IT.
Thankful for more oldie pics!! And we all see that pic and see Lulu!

Thankful for an early Saturday adventure. Early to bed Friday night ( HOORAY!), meant 5:30am wake up should be easy and it WAS! Love our tribe!

All smiles, post walk/hike/torturous adventure - differing answers depending on who you ask :)
Lulu of course loved the whole thing. She loves her easy life.... AZ scenery and being pushed around...
Thankful for a hubby who created crazy super food smoothies.
I did indeed finish it. This has to be a record. It was a chore. Gag.
Another day- another Lifetime pool pic!

Happy Fathers Day!
The day started with  time alone with yummy food and hymns then time together for church then Sunday naps followed by DQ = perfectly perfect social distanced kinda dad's day

June's Joys Part 1: 1-35

Happy Monday!

It's our last week of school! With that comes a flood of emotions of course. I felt I could handle all the feels, but my eyes leaked a little while making the End of Year Memory slide show, to the tune of Bruno Mars you can count on me.

Joys along our journey. This week I had to search. Maybe because Arizona's covid cases are higher than ever now? Maybe because I want to be done with work like all my AZ teacher friends are? Maybe it's because I want some of our stuff from IL, (our wardrobe here is ever so limited and I miss my cute summer clothes that we totally did not pack!)? Maybe it's because I miss my mom and the support she is - she lets me vent unjudged, she lets the kids talk her ear off ( Mine are literally talked off I promise you) Maybe I am just discontent? Maybe its in part because Harrison's bday trip to Cali next week can't happen since their beaches arent open yet?! It just feels like this week had an extra dose of HARD mixed in with it. I just wanted to throw the Covid Crisis towel in and just be DONE with all the new normalcy's! But... look at these faces below... they seemingly are so strong and press on and love life no matter what or where they are! Thank you kiddos for showing your momma daily life lessons. All. the . hearts.

Joy #1: Hudson's continued love of riding his bike.

Joy #2: Lulu in her new natives.

 Joy #3: Our water slide.
Joy #4: Simplicity. It was a beautiful double digit day, and his Army men came outside to play.

Joy #5: These $5 plastic drink dispensers. Bought for Lulu's party -BEST money spent EVER. We usually have one filled with ice water and one filled with lemonade daily.
The spout is easy to pour (into mouths, who needs cups!).
Joy #6: A boy and a book. I wanted to nap, he wanted to read me a bedtime story. He read EVERY single page. My momma heart was bursting but my teacher heart might have literally just totally burst. He was determined to read the harder words, and to try his best "s" sounds like his speech teacher has been helping him on.
Joy #7: NAIL time. Very happy to report my toes and fingers are back to normal! And it took the sweet nail lady "T" to make my 2 big toe nails perfectly square w acrylics! Who knew that was a thing! But my jagged toe nails from that marathon a million years ago, needed some lovin'!
During that solo time, reading happened.

Joy #8: Bedtime stories with sisters
Joy #9 : Too late to grab a coffee before zoom church? No problem! Thank you Grubhub. I might have just really wanted this amazing bag.
Joy #10: Gospel service outside, in shorts, on Zoom.
Joy #11: Nighttime vibes for working remote are everything. If there's a breeze, this is where you'll find me!

Joy #12: Paparazzi of our sleepers. And this bedding. Reviews are in, and even Harrison wishes he had gotten a Beddy's bedding set! Obsessed with them!

Joy #13: Cool mornings, and bike rides.
Joy #14: Longer rides with big bro
Joy #15: Horsie rides to bed. Thank you strong Dad!
Joy #16: Sedona bike riding with friends!

Joy # 17: While the big boys are away, we will play! Fro Yo for dinner sounds good!

Joy #18: Encouraging daily devotions. I love that they are automatic and pop up every morning, usually 100% on point. I also love that I have been burdened about a couple topics, so I am trying to dive deeper on my own with scripture. Sometimes I rely too heavily on what others share about verses, I don't let God work with me ... so trying this approach .
 Joy #19: Gorgeous blooms.
Joy #20: Stillness. Still water. Still bird. Be still my soul.
Joy #21: New hairbows, teethers and big sis love!
Joy #22: A boy in Cabella's! No other words needed.
Joy #23: Friends who adopt your son for fun resort life !
Joy #24: Spying on the bebe.
Joy #25: Heatwave, technology detox afternoon, means Disney Dance Party on the slide!

Joy # 26: Focusing on the fun in the sun, not the dimpled thighs. Resort life starts now! Although I have been waiting for a fun Albion bathing suit, these leopard high waisted bottoms from the Rack, with a black tank top work great!
Joy #27: When the room we get is patio and pool side. Thank you Lord! Cheapest room, best view!
Joy #28: Really? Masks on 5 year olds all day at school next fall? Doubt it. But joyful for a semi thought out idea and hooray for the sanitizer! We were always out of that stuff!
Joy #29: Staycation fun and Targets Shipt delivery! These tubes tho!
Joy #30: Lulu actually being ok with the water!
Joy #31: Early bird gets the puffs and the stroll with momma time!
Look at her. Seriously I am in awe of this tiny adorable human. Stop with those faces . All the smirks and giggles and personality.

 Joy #32: Staycation Day 2

Joy #33: Last minute custom Ts for our team! Love supporting my friend Ashley's shop ( @fourtopia) on insta.

Joy #34: Chef Hannah and her Cinnamon Rolls
 Joy #35: Church dates

When you choose the corner seat, on a bench, and you don't want to take the camera off...
We opted for no video for a few minutes in hopes of keeping the table in 1 piece!😆
