2.26.18

Thankful that we have a healthy Hudbud again. From Sunday-Thursday he was in a lot of stomach pain. As in keel over and not move from fetal position pain. As of Saturday he was eating normal foods again and keeping it all down. What a week. {Yes he sleeps sitting straight up sometimes.}

Thankful for Billy Graham's life and legacy and the endless source of encouragement his sermons, quotes and crusade recordings are for Matt & I.
Thankful for this goof! Look at those teeth! Love seeing him grow up even if its miles away- these pic just crack us up. That little personality is a trip.
Thankful for Phil & for sharing sushi with him! 1st timer!

Thankful for friends that share good thoughts.... a to - be -married in a month friend is reading this book, sharing amazing quotes with Matt... so although a marriage vet 😍 , we can ALWAYS learn and grow in love for each other and check out that catch phrase
" What if God designed marriage to make us holy more than to make us happy".
That. sold. it.

Thankful for our Zoo pass! Cloudy days are perfect for getting some outdoor time with the pretty botanicals and lots of cool animals!
Cheesecake Factory called our name for lunch and validated our parking, so a free to park beach afternoon was the best way to end that day!

Thankful for Phil renting a vehicle big enough for all of us to ride together in, and for being that extra set of hands to capture our fam in a pic.

Thankful that there is much hype about the government taking the land from the Wa'ianae homeless community, so they wanted to share their homes with the community as a way to educate us as to how they live.... perfect timing... Phil was over the moon to walk a few steps in their shoes, as were we! They seriously have their own little village set up, and it's really eye opening.
Then we came around the corner, and saw the crashing waves, and was like THIS... THIS is why they love living outside in tents.... the oceans beauty is their backyard!

Thankful for our awesome community! These cute girl scouts sold 1500 boxes in 48 minutes! What a record!

Thankful for phrases in scripture that jump out... and thankful for a hubby that shares those...
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. Luke 4:20
Ready to have eyes of faith this week- staying fastened on Jesus.

2.19.18

Thankful that today is a holiday since little bud woke up throwing up 😒

Thankful for our small gathering of believers that can sing some pretty harmonies together! We love when our friends host hymn sings.

Thankful for our 1st house guest arriving this Friday. Thankful that he's an older single guy, that has low expectations & can eat anything. #thisgirlcannotcook #takeoutfordayz

Thankful for new to me nails. They are a tad too long making my typing go extra slow ;) But they are  so fun and give the best back scratches. Ask Hannah. She is obsessed.
{See I do it all for the kids, the nails aren't even for me - haha- yeah right }

Thankful that our princess rocked her 1st away from us day at Girl Scout Camp. Up a 5am, and in motion the entire day made for the BEST night's sleep ever and a very sore Sunday.

Thankful for the local youth group that Harrison is a part of and for being a part of their annual Phileo Dinner Banquet. All the teens host and serve the adults. It was so sweet to see Harrison waiting on our table. The food so graciously cooked by the youth pastor's wife, was DELISH, the song they sang to us (they were not even embarrassed!! Impressive in itself!) and the fun game of jeopardy that our table won 2nd place in, was awesome! The night was capped off by one of the youth pastors sharing God's love from scripture. Best Saturday night!
{meanwhile Hudson was babysat by the church nursery & Matt was braving the 1 hour drive each way to get Hannah from camp before the sleepover part happened, and guys- the camp had a mile long steep incline dirt road that was pitch black leading up to it- I would have had a heart attack in that 1 mile alone... so thankful that Matt offered to get her... so so so ... }

Thankful for a fun Chinese New Year Friday in class & for a 5 minute "Jump for Joy", jump rope workout!

Thankful for waking up so early on Saturday to drop off Hannah, so that Esther (my long time marathon runner pal) and I could squeeze in a few minute catch up chat and coffee at sunrise!
Haven't seen her for at least 5+ years?! And who woulda thought she'd come to me!
Yay for living in a fun touristy spot!

Esther & Greg & their beautiful rental house.

Thankful for this new treat. It is most def the boy's fave cereal now.

Thankful for this super cool new plant. Check it out! It drips water?!

We finally saw whales! From a very far distance, obvi, but yes that is a whale body!
 Splash!

Please pray for our good friend Cheryl Dobbertin. She ran the Monday bible studies that I loved back in IL. Her husband had a heart attack suddenly last week while shoveling snow, and is in Heaven. His funeral was Thursday. Tom was a kind, big hearted guy who thought of outta the box ideas to reach the community. His idea of Car Guys was really encouraging to Matt  and I. And although we have the Hope to see him again, we know the sudden loss is no doubt heart breaking for Cheryl and their family & the assembly in Palos.

2.12.18

Thankful that today is no school! Love me some long weekends! This weekend and next weekend are both 3 days! Holla!

Thankful for backs to lean on, and laps to nap in.

Thankful for my class. They might have made Maili History. The attendance ribbon goes to the class that ends each month with the highest percentage of kids in attendance. It has not left my door this whole year! My heart just bursts each month. Love these kids. Love that ribbon too!

Thankful for inspiration from a recent training ... bulletin board updates needed to happen... and I love the uncluttered very focused look.

Thankful for that 1 second walk to the cart depot. A Target trip. With the trio. With an intense momma. Good thing most of the trip was pre-ordered ( I love that Target shops for you!) I might have walked extra slowly back to the car.... and then I found my groove again with some awesome jams and some cooled down kiddos.
Fear is a Liar & You Make Me Brave ( By Bethel Music) are just so so good. And so uplifting.

Lyrics from Fear is  Liar

Lyrics
When he told you you’re not good enough
When he told you you’re not right
When he told you you’re not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you’re not worthy
When he told you you’re not loved
When he told you you’re not beautiful
That you’ll never be enough
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
When he told you were troubled
You’ll forever be alone
When he told you you should run away
You’ll never find a home
When he told you you were dirty
And you should be ashamed
When he told you you could be the one
That grace could never change
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
Let Your fire fall and cast out all my fears
Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel

Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar

Fellowship Friday Planning in full effect once bedtime hit! Let all the fun begin! I love that we changed the format to monthly, as opposed to weekly. With Matt working nights now, I couldn't do them solo, but Auntie was sweet enough to let Matt off the hook this Friday.  And hooray for all the hearts and pink and red and LOVE!
I adore centers in my classroom and adore the freedom of choice that it empowers the kids with (it also takes the pressure off me to entertain everyone too!). So the plan is...  after lasagna- they are free to explore the 3 centers at their leisure. Cookie deco- with cookies baked with love from Olivia. Playdough- with the coolest make your own flower time . Side walk chalk, bubbles and glow sticks.

Fellowship Friday Photo Dump!
Madi and Hannah. Look like sisters right? So cute! Madi is in my class, and lives just a couple miles away.
 Cookie time!

The idea of kids eating first was great, so that the food table was free for the adults while the kids were cookie-ing and playdough-ing.

 "Chocolate hearts"
Nye and his cool playdough rose!

 Mr Hebert's taxi service

 The crew!

The boys enjoying the calm after the "storm" :) Kids are gone, house is quiet, and they can ripstick outside all night ( minus Hud).

Best part of party hosting- breakfast choices of cookies and cupcakes ;)

Saturday Hike with the guys! Matt has it on his heart to connect the guys more here, and what better way then to scale a mountain together :) Matt, Keith, Nate, Jeff and his son, Nick and his 2 sons, and Harrison powered through a good workout together! Such a great way to be strong together. We pray that Nick, a dad of one of my students, will want to hear more about the Lord. He has gone to church in the past, and Matt knows he is searching for something more....

Hooray for Hudson meeting the slide requirements! But guys, the steps up to the slides are HIGH and this boy is oh so careless, it literally gave me a few mini heart attacks. But we both are still standing today ( bearly ;))

That sly smirk. Oh Hudson you sure are a heart breaker.

Thankful for the long breaks in between church services on Sunday. We are done at 12, then we have until 7... and because today is off, we thought we could skip the naps and productivity at home and hit Waikiki :) Great choice. Our favorite street to park on did not disappoint. Free parking too! And we chose a near to our car beach area too, which was ideal.

Time outs happen even at the beach... sigh... but at least momma can be tanning during the re-direction!

But now its all thumbs up and ready to play!

 Fish!

 ❤

Post Beach we wanted a cool treat.
Input "ice cream" into maps and it led us here.
Volcano Shakes.
Perfect we thought. Hence the very big smiles on all 3 kids. And the amazingly delish background photos
.
Inside the place... there were like 10 options of shakes all over $17!
Yes the donut one did look amazing.

Finally stopped to take a picture of this fabulous wall.

That cloud art - so puffy! God's masterpiece in action. We love noticing creation in a whole new way out here. 😎😍

Thankful for poolside fun.
We had the luxury of using a cool rocket float a few weeks ago at KoOlina.
That popped, but it made us look for other cool ride on floats.
Thank you Amazon. 3 ride on floats for 15 bucks!

Thankful for Valentine gifts from grandparents that treat us to lunch and snacks pool side! Yum!

πŸ’ŸπŸ’˜Share the love... especially this week... ❤πŸ’•
