for answered prayers- we can stay in the house that we are currently in. (Although a couple other options had newer amenities i.e. a dryer and updated everything)- it's all about location.... and we have grown to love our location. The layout of the living room is 200% ideal for outreach ideas. thankful that the guys installed sprinklers, so the dirt yard will eventually be green and lush! Visions of cookouts and beachy sunset views are dancing in my head! we are a corner lot, right on the main highway, as soon as we cross those 4 lanes, the grass and palm trees lead to the beach! It's not our main beach - as the waves are too rough most days- but it's still a happy retreat most afternoons.
We hear lots of action on the busy street- which many locals wondered why we appreciate... maybe it makes us feel at home? Kinda seems like Chicago :) We love the vibe (even if our bedroom gets blue lights strobing through it at all hours) It's really awesome that we are a 5 minute drive to meeting. A one mile jog to the hospital ( random mile marker for my newly frequent jogs!) It's handy when we forget something at work/school- to dash home in literally 3 minutes.
with the news that we can stay here ... came the instant urge to get this house beachy...

We need to freshen up the handles- but that's the easy part of it all :)
We set up the kids' beds.... and have them all in one room...it's a room just to sleep in- clearly nothing more as it's a pretty tight squeeze- thankful that night 1 and 2 were successful... counting on many more sleepy snoozes in there together... that leaves the 3rd bedroom (harrison and hannah's old room) for our guest room/ playroom. That room is the one room with AC- so guests- come on down!

thankful for our school's 1st Family Movie night. So excited to see how my school reaches the community. I love seeing the positivity that the admin staff demonstrates. The movie was Kubo and the 2 strings - which was too scary at many parts for Hannah and Hudson, so they and Matt drove around and took cute beach pics :)
thankful for Harrison's teammate's mom who randomly asked if we needed extra pads/leggings - and we did- it was such a blessing!
thankful for Target having the cutest clearance welcome mat ever.
thankful for fun Instagram filters! We maybe a year late with noticing and using filters- but watch out now- we are obsessed ;)

Then we ventured to get shave ice.... when you google : best shave ice in oahu: this name came up! So of course we needed to check it out! The line was not out the door- like normal- so we ran in and grabbed the Rainbow Ice with condensed milk drizzle ( wont repeat that part of it), and kids had a strawberry, watermelon and cotton candy ice ( it was all pink, and hannah's dream).
And since we already had lots of sugar, why not add some more.... stopping at Leonard's was pretty amazing. Hot & smooshy malasadas- and one was full of coconut cream... mind blown.
thankful for school uniforms. never thought I would love uniforms for the kids... but it makes our outfit planning a DREAM.. and it makes Friday even more special.... since it's Free Dress Friday... I secretly wish I had uniforms each day too ;)
